The agency was described as a demolished successor to the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), which was previously managed by the billionaire Elon Musk.
What is the National Design Studio?
Trump signed an executive order on Thursday in which the studio was set up. The order says that you would advise agencies in relation to user -friendliness, aesthetics and standardized design and at the same time reduce the costs for duplication. It is planned to work and then close for three years.
Gebbia said on X that his goal was to make government websites “beautiful”, run on modern software and to offer excellent user experience. He compared the vision with the Apple App Store and promising services that are simple, reliable and satisfactory for the citizens.
The 44-year-old co-founder of Airbnb and Tesla board member said that he would do his best to make the USA “the most beautiful and usable country in the digital world”.
Who is Joe Gebbia?
In 2007 Joe Gebbia and his former classmate of the Rhode Island School of Design Brian Chesky terminated her work and started a company after her landlord in San Francisco increased the rent by 20%to push them out of what they could afford. With the conference of the Industrial Design Society of America and Hotels, which are fully booked, Gebbia suggested to rent air stresses in her apartment.
You have set up a website called “Airbed & Breakfast” and advertised you via Design blogs to secure three bookings with which you could cover the rent.
In 2008, Nathan Blecharczyk, a Harvard graduate and technical architect, who also had a strong increase in rent in San Francisco, came as the third co -founder.
By 2024, Airbnb had operated more than 1.5 billion gas attacks, in over 220 countries and regions and, after its IPO from 2020, reached a market value in $ 10 billion.
Gebbia joined Musk’s Doge team, who had commissioned the identification of federal expenditure that they regarded as unnecessary.
He was commissioned to digitize the US decline in the Federal Agency system and joined a “small advice from consultants” to monitor Doge after departure from Musk.
Gebbia shifted from a large democratic donor to Trump in 2024, with disillusionment with his former party.
