For many, movement is an integral part of our life. 63.1% of the people in England at the age of 16 and through the “physically active” and at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week.
In the summer months, however, it can be difficult to maintain an active lifestyle.
In addition to the general feeling of lethargy, extreme temperatures can be unsure – especially with physical exertion. And yet some actively choose to carry out their workouts in these environments because they believe that they will burn more calories and see better results from their fitness regime.
So is there a truth?

The short answer is: Yes.
Nevertheless, Kirren Douglas, the Wellbeerg staff coach at Nuffield Health, does not necessarily emphasize the results they are looking for.
He explains Yahoo UK: “While we burn more calories in the heat when our body cools down, the number of calories burned is very low and is unlikely that it cannot be felt. It doesn’t take many calories to sweat and cool down. After a while that suffer a higher temperature.
Douglas also says that, although you may find that you will quickly lose weight for a long time during training at high temperatures, it will most likely return the liquid weight as soon as you rehydrate.

“The higher amount of sweat and liquid that is necessary to keep your body cool, she dehydrates faster and could be dangerous if it is not carefully managed,” continues Douglas. “Your heart has to work harder and you have an increased risk of dehydration, heat creation and heat stroke.”
When it comes to security, the proper fluid intake is of crucial importance. “Make sure that you have enough liquids and electrolytes in your system, and have more with your hand to keep up with a quick loss of fluid when you train,” says the expert. “Also ensure that you are in light clothing and are not too closely wrapped, which can cause you to heat faster. If you check in and make sure you feel good during the entire training sessions.”

When it comes to the type of training that you do during a heat wave, Douglas is, according to Douglas, that training is ideal at high temperatures with little intensity and a small effect.
“Things like yoga, Pilates or water sports would be best. Every intensive training such as serious training, HIIT or other intensive cardio should be carried out in an air -conditioned environment such as a gym.”
